u/ihavdogs Apr 01 '23

That reaction was because the bullpen blew Ohtani‘s win, and he’s wondering when and how to get the fuck off that shit team

91

u/Will_RX_ Apr 01 '23

Bullpen has been shit since 2003. 😡

44

u/ihavdogs Apr 01 '23

Congratulations on 20yrs

Seattle’s team straightened out last year. It’s been a long time since they were in the playoffs. My dad was alive the last time before last year. I haven’t looked to see how they are this year yet.

Me after purposefully making him angry and allowing him to hit me.

93

u/hiddenrealism Apr 01 '23

man that punch was so hard it blew my eardrums out and caused major PTSD as you fell backwards breaking my ribs. haven't been able to work since that fateful day.

Dood I had trout give me a death stare for yelling fish out of water in like 2012.....scared the shit out of me. I was like this mf could hop over this wall and destroy me .

88

u/kynthrus Apr 01 '23

Isn't that the goal though, to get hit? To get a piece of his pie without the rigorous training.

40

u/gerryhallcomedy Apr 01 '23

I remember an old Bobcat Goldthwait routine where he admitted to trying to piss of Sylvester Stallone so he'd hit him, and after that his day of work would be going to his mailbox and saying, "hello, check!"

6

u/Q_S2 Apr 01 '23

đŸ€ŁđŸ˜‚đŸ€ŁđŸ˜‚đŸ€Ł Bobcat Goldthwait said that?!?

Omg I'm looking for that one

Dude has a “random” drug test headed his way lol

206

u/djoddible Apr 01 '23

He handled that poorly. Heckling players is part of the game. Tighten up Rendon

26

u/econ1mods1are1cucks Apr 01 '23

Lol my buddy kept asking an outfielder where his finance is to the point that I was sure our fans were going to dump one on us

20

u/ploonk Apr 02 '23

Never ask a man about his finances.

I once had a triple A pitcher ask me to heckle his buddy that was coming in in relief on the opposing team. Left my phone under my seat after the game and when I went back to get it the dude met me and said that that was the best heckling he'd ever heard. Fun moment. Again part of the game. Just be funny and creative and not overly obnoxious and its all good.

79

u/Lysol3435 Apr 01 '23

A random heckler set him off by “calling him a bitch”. I’d say he tested positive

16

u/bleepbluurp Apr 01 '23

Not excusing anything, but I think he’s frustrated considering the amount of time he hasn’t played due to injures and the numbers he’s put up since coming to LA. Then throw in the constant heckling from fans (some even Angels fans) and I could see him snapping like this.

13

u/tendieful Apr 01 '23

Honestly bro you make a compelling argument but anyone who has grown still sees it as a fragile ego cause that’s what it is.

People will criticize you even when you do everything right. It’s just a part of life. The more basic and derogatory the criticism, the less serious it should be taken. If anyone ever calls you a bitch, just remember it says a lot more about that person and their character than it does about you. And most people can see that when their not the victim of the insult.

He hasn’t filed a police report. Oakland PD (this happened at the Oakland Coliseum where the A’s play, they were playing against the Angels which is the team Rendon (the player in question) plays for) saw the video and opened an investigation but have said the fan has not come forward.

I just don't understand why he cares so much to risk it like this. Some random dude who paid money to come and see YOU perform under the lights heckles you, and you can't just get over it? Seems like it comes with the territory. Pro athletes are some of the most insecure people on the planet in my experience, I suppose that's just part of their extreme mentality to win and be liked though.

10

u/Yerawizzardarry Apr 01 '23

When you think about it these are usually people who have been payed since the day they became adults to play a literal game. I wouldn't really expect them to have the normal life experiences that matures us.

They're pretty much still doing the same thing they did at 13-18

Bro I'm breaking both my legs before I blame it on them, that way I get extra money. I would probably whisper something offensive so that they hit me as hard as possible.

I'll go state to state getting beat up by baseball players, after that I'm moving on to the NFL. If I can survive the beatings I'll have enough money to pay for my extensive medical treatment that I'll need for the rest of my life

Get’s called a bitch by a stranger and resorts to assault. What a fragile ego.

74

u/burnerking Apr 01 '23 edited Apr 02 '23

Berkman used to get heckled because he looked heavy (chubby face). A fan once threw a Twinkie at him in the outfield. He thanked the fan and ate it. https://www.chicagotribune.com/news/ct-xpm-2003-06-03-0306030253-story.html

Edited: Thanks for the few upvotes people. Just wanted say I know it sounds cliche, but the ball players really are an ambassador of the sport and their team. Berkman could have acted like RendĂłn, instead he won over some fans. Full disclosure: I am an unabashed Houstonian and Astros fan. RendĂłn is also a Houstonian which makes this even worse.

Could probably be argued that calling someone a bitch with the understanding that said bitch isn’t allowed to square off on you for it is fairly fucking fragile, too. Same shit happens when people abuse servers, cashiers, flight attendants, whatever. Folks feel comfortable treating professionals poorly, no?

If someone walks up to you, calls you a bitch, and you absorb it with a forced smile, maybe they were right.

26

u/realparkingbrake Apr 01 '23

There was an umpire in Philly who ejected a fan a few years back and lots of people were squealing about it. If the players can't take a little heckling they should find another line of work, the usual crap from people who think the whole world is their living room and they can behave any way they please. It turned out that the ejected fan had been screaming homophobic obscenities at every opposing player who came to bat, and when he was kicked out everyone in his section applauded.

A's fans don't get much entertainment from their team these days, maybe this is what they substitute for good baseball.

17

u/Word_Iz_Bond Apr 01 '23

As an annoying fan myself, fans can be absolute assholes. Terrible look for Rendon, but I'm inclined to think this dude deserved to get hemmed up for talking too sweet

11

u/AtsignAmpersat Apr 01 '23

I really don’t get the reaction here. Some guy calls another guy a bitch and is confronted over it. Sometimes you call someone a bitch and they ignore you. Sometimes they don’t. If you don’t want the consequences of talking shit to someone. Don’t talk shit?

4

u/BTBskesh Apr 01 '23

Because it‘s part of the sport. You want to infuriate the opposite team so that they fuck up. It‘s a very common and basic thing in sports. It‘s normal. It belongs to sports. Have you ever seen fans at football (real name for soccer) games yelling at the opposite team? There are whole chants and songs about players insulting them etc. This dude is just a bitch ass pussy lmao.

6

u/Newdaytoday1215 Apr 01 '23

It’s not part of the sport. This is why so many decent ppl w families don’t attend sporting events anymore. Which is a shame because the major of sports fans wouldn’t lower themselves to such a garbage standard. It doesn’t belong in sports, it belongs to entitled POS. There’s no bottom in this behavior. And from where I’m sitting the guy that ran his mouth then clammed up when confronted was pretty much proven to be the bitch.

7

u/jpp1973 Apr 01 '23

The ppl who think the fan is right are the real bitches. You go to a game to insult and swear at strangers knowing they could be risking their careers and/or big fines if they retaliate, no matter how much of a cunt you are. Try that out on the street - please, tough guys, just be sure to film it too for the rest of us! You ruin the game for those of us just trying to enjoy a good game of baseball. If you’re that pent up, go jump off a fucking building.

And he wasn’t trying to slap him, he was trying to smack the brim of his hat down over his eyes. It was a just a “hello, fucko, I see you” grab meant to make the pussy fan piss his pants a little, lol. The only thing that may have got hurt was the big mouth’s pride.

Why is everyone defending the pear-shaped heckler? If you fuck with people, sometimes they’ll fuck you up.

u/Legitimate-BurnerAcc Apr 01 '23

I mean I’m a grown man. If I call another grown man names, I expect to be confronted by this man.

9

u/TheH0rnyRobot Apr 01 '23

Right? That’s just reality.

8

u/chadwicke619 Apr 01 '23

Facts. Gross and pathetic how everyone is shaming the baseball player and insulting the fan for not trying to eke out a payday with his rude behavior.

9

u/BYTxANGEL Apr 01 '23

Why is everyone defending the fan? You guys act like if you say some shit like that to a complete stranger that there won't be a possibility of repercussions. It's just a weird mindset to have. People get too comfortable, but straight up do a 180 when confronted. Why not just leave the player be or say that shit on Twitter or reddit for that matter where you're free to release your inner keyboard warrior?

u/msavage960 Apr 01 '23

It’s a pro sports game. People are going to heckle, if you seriously can’t handle a little heckling while making millions a year go do something else. Not hard to just carry on & ignore

1

u/fkivxvii Apr 01 '23

So because you paid for a ticket you get to talk shit to the players?

3

u/msavage960 Apr 01 '23

No. Quite frankly I don’t attend things like this anymore because I get annoyed with loud people and large crowds lol, but there will always be drunks and people who’re way too into it that are going to heckle.

If you seriously can’t disregard some dumb opposing fans in the crowd what the hell are you doing playing pro sports? Most players who do stuff like this are the ones who end up arrested for domestic violence or assault at some point in their careers

I mean, we all know him as “bitch” now
. But does anyone know what this players real name is?

2

u/barry_thisbone Apr 01 '23

Anthony Rendon

3

u/Spectoral Apr 01 '23

Wow, OP comments saying he does this type of shit. Anyone who likes harassing players at sporting events doesn’t deserve the life needed to attend one. You’re a loser.

6

u/Bancroft28 Apr 01 '23

I love Anthony Rendon. I love heckling baseball players. But if I mouth off to a stranger and that guy with arms the size of my legs gets a hold Of me
That’s my fault.

Actions have consequences and that’s why I heckle from the outfield on top of a 10 foot wall.

6

u/moosecanucklez Apr 01 '23

He kinda is a bitch tbh.

7

u/maughanster8507 Apr 01 '23

Shouldn’t call a random person a bitch

2

u/Loring Apr 01 '23

How to guarantee you will loudly be called a bitch at every baseball game from here on out by every visiting team...

3

u/ComfortableFlaky4579 Apr 01 '23

What is heckling? -interrupt (a public speaker, performer) with derisive or aggressive comments or abuse.

Why is THAT ok why would you do it?

Stupid fan for getting caught lackin after opening his “bitch” mouth. What a pussy. Good for Rendon.

2

u/Hoodieandglock Apr 01 '23

Imagine getting cucked In front of all your friends and fam😂😂😂

2

u/kenny_mfceo Apr 01 '23

That's a good way to get the whole crowd to chant "you're a bitch" for the rest of the season.

2

u/rhapsody1899 Apr 01 '23

Why do people expect players to just take crap from belligerent, foul mouth fans? They don’t have to, nor should they. Stupid fans get exactly what they deserve.

1

u/Johnchamberlain123 Apr 01 '23

All you defending the guy that called him the b word are a bunch of pssys

1

u/Conscious-Donut Apr 01 '23

Maybe don’t act like a bitch then?

1

u/FuckZog Apr 01 '23

I see a coward talking shit while the other guy is being held in place by security.

1

u/acb235 Apr 01 '23

Looks like Rendon is still not connecting with anything

1

u/elme77618 Apr 01 '23
