You are mistaken, this is r/calminpublic. Check the sticky for more info and have an incredibly chill day.

To be a new, chill subreddit, absolutely. remain calm

Thinkin' maybe these new calm post may need a new calm flair. Might help mitigate the r/woooosh moments.
edit: "Certified Chill" slaps, good job 👏

This is a Nara park deer and I was actually expecting a freakout. They are vicious and there are 250 deer attacks there a month. I have been personally attacked there and saw them harass others. Some even hiss and I have never seen deer behave that way before.

This reindeer is really good, obviously trained well, but don't stick too close especially to it's horns, to avoid getting hurt.

u/inkiwitch Apr 02 '23
They aren’t trained, they learn that people give them treats when they bow so they pick it up from other deer.
I gave a fawn it’s first seed biscuit on a mountain in Nara and it was super skittish until it tried the cookie and then it flipped out and followed me for a bit. Little thing would have done anything for more.
You’re right though about the horns, they usually cut the horns down so people don’t get hurt. Deer can get aggressive when you run out of their favorite snack.

u/FluidWitchty Apr 01 '23
No we don't that ruins the whole joke. We just calmly stroke their hair, take them to the chair in the corner and make sure their glue bottle is full.

A calm greeting = a public freak out? 🧐

u/ohhyouknow 👑 Publicfreakout Princess 👑 Apr 01 '23

One does not need to be freaking out to benefit from a chill pill. Apologies if my comment came off that way. I just want you to have a good day
2
u/mattberry1980 Apr 01 '23
Telling someone to read the rules and demand they take a chill pill. How else would it come off? Lol

I love Nara Japan. I have a few videos like this of the deer bowing, it’s a fascinating experience

Can you do that with a deer in the states? Like maybe after bowing a few times the deer will just copy us? What do you feed deer?

People need to learn the definition of words?? Like how is this a public freak out. Oh wait it's not??

The other deer sees the buck being fed by human contact, then moves closer to the human closest to expect the same.

You literally don't even need to initiate it in nara, they will walk up to you and bow and then immediately start smelling your pockets and watching your hands. It's like a crowd of little headbangers at a metal show, and also much like a metal show, they all want to eat a cookie right now.
