Article [Givony] Sources say Scoot Henderson is very interested in Charlotte's situation and would welcome hearing his name called second, as much due to proximity to his hometown of Marietta, Georgia, as the excitement over new ownership that is potentially taking over the Hornets this summer.

Discussion Hypothetical - we keep the late 1R & 2R picks
Im aware we could very well use the picks to move up or that we may not even have the roster space to use all the picks, but if we were to keep all our selections I feel like that late 1R/early 2R turn is loaded.
Depending on how things shake out these 8 prospects could be available in our 4 picks from 27-41
(In no particular order) - Brice Sensabaugh - Jamie Jaquez Jr - GG Jackson - Noah Clowney - Tracey Jackson-Davis - Dariq Whitehead - DaRon Holmes
^ should we take Scoot @ 2, there’s still some talented ‘jumbo wings’ here in Sensabaugh, Jaquez Jr, GG Jackson …. Clowney & Jackson-Davis can provide some valuable young depth to the front court …. Whitehead could prove to be a steal if the medical side works out …. tbh don’t know much about Holmes but I added him here
UDFA - - Jordan Miller (only measured 6'4.5 but boasts a 7' wingspan and just knows how to play the game. Watched a good amount of ACC ball and he screams a guy that's going to get passed over but has the talent to be a legit rotational nba player. A useful piece in the modern nba) - Keyonte Johnson (has that dawg in him, high IQ, glue guy that loves to do the dirty work) - Isaiah Wong (unselfish almost to a fault, high IQ, good size/athleticsm/shot making, somehow was ACC POY lol)
^ nba caliber players that would be great stashes for the swarm

Discussion Scoot Henderson concerns
Given the (un)fortunate decision we will make in the coming weeks, I’m curious to hear some thoughts about the perceived weaknesses in Scoot Henderson’s game and overall basketball fit on our team.
Off the ball ability - Currently Scoot is a poor catch & shoot threat. Sadly, it’s a double whammy of low volume and low percentages. He lacked confidence on film and appeared to have inconsistent shot prep and body language off the ball. Hopefully we hear some good things pre-draft in regards to mechanics, workouts, etc.
Half-court finishing and Free-throw rate - In the highlights and scouting reports I’ve seen, Scoot is not the half-court at-rim finisher that his frame and vertical athleticism would suggest. 2.9 FTA per game would back that up, although G-league FT in only one shot per trip. His reliance on pull-up jumpers is a bit worrying for me. He can get to those shots and make them, but it seems to be an over-reliance for a player with supposedly elite physical tools. This has proven to hurt Melo early in his career. Adding another guard who struggles to constantly pressure the rim and get to the line could prove to be problematic.
I don’t want to downplay the obvious physical, mental, and technical talent that Scoot has. His passing deep in the paint is particularly special and he will be tremendous in transition. However, most of his skills exist with the ball in his hands. How much does this cap his overall potential pending drastic improvement?
I’m not saying who we should or shouldn’t pick, we don’t have to know that yet. Just want to ask some questions, Scoot being the logical choice to begin. Good day and Go Bugs.

Discussion Who should we trade up to get in the 2023 draft?
We have 27-34-39-41. Who is on your dream list to have in a trade up scenario and where do you think we can get them?
I wish we could trade up for Leonard Miller, Brice Sensabaugh, or Dariq Whitehead around pick 15.

Discussion What’s your all-time starting five in Charlotte history?
Doesn’t necessarily need to be the best players who ever suited up for the Hornets/Bobcats, but players that you love/loved or you feel personify the franchise?
Mine are:
PG:Muggsy Bogues (close with Kemba but muggsy got me into basketball in the first place)
SG:Malik Monk (I remember vividly trying to explain to my friends why he was the best player available)
SF:Crash Wallace (IMO heavily underrated and a very fun player)
PF:Larry Johnson (the commercials were enough to put him up here)
C:Dwight Howard, another player that reinvigorated my love of the game, had to pick up a jersey when he came to Charlotte.

Discussion From what I've seen this offseason I believe Miles Bridges' past and future impact is being underrated by the public.
First things first lets get this out of the way: Yes he did something horrible, what he did cannot be easily brushed aside or forgotten. And yes, most people if they could choose would rather he not be on this team. Unfortunately, the reality is he will be most likely be a Hornet next year.
Miles Bridges is someone who Clifford called the Hornets best scorer and rebounder in 2021-2022. His athleticism and rim attacking were a huge part of our team, I would argue a reason our 3 point shooting was down last year was because we did not have Miles constantly downhill putting pressure at the rim.
I was watching Sam Vecenie's appearance on locked on Hornets and while I completely agree that Scoot should be the pick. I think he and everyone else discussing Hornets just completely forgot about Miles. He was discussing Hornets talent and basically said LaMelo was the only talent on the Hornets and I reject that notion. Miles was just as good as a player as LaMelo in 2021-2022 and he will be part of the "big 3" here with whoever we pick at #2. Miles has real all-star level talent but I have not seen him discussed like that kind of talent anywhere.
I've seen lots of people say Miller would fit better on the team, but from what I'm looking at here are two starting 5 options (after 10 game suspension)
Scoot / Lamelo / Miles / PJ / Mark
Lamelo / Rozier / Miller / Miles / Mark
Personally I believe the weakest part out of these two lineups would be Rozier, I'm not sure where the idea that Miller slides into the team better than Scoot? I think that's only true if PJ is not part of your future. I would take option A over option B every day of the week.

Discussion What are your controversial Hornets related opinions?
Just out of boredom, curious that people have to say, past and present. I’ll start
- I think the Bobcats branding was cool and I also look back on that era fondly. I know for many people not being the Hornets + the god awful futility makes them look back negatively, but I won’t be mad at the team that brought basketball back to Charlotte.
- I enjoyed Dwight Howard’s stint with the Hornets. I know he was a useless black hole that didn’t give a lot of effort but it was cool seeing an all time great player deliver some big games like his 30/30, near triple double against the Warriors, and moments where he was crossing people over and multiple posters.
- I think Purple Shirt Guy did nothing wrong, was done dirty by the franchise, and should be looked back as a good fan. He didn’t cost us anything
