16-61, despite being extremely sad, is a very visually appealing record.

Detroit is officially the only team in the NBA that couldn’t beat the Rockets this season. 😂

How about those shitty teams get good and win for once

We can't all jump ship to an already-winning team like you, KD
Some of us have to be a lil patient

I like how one of KD's burners has OKC flair. "This'll throw them off the rail."

It’s hard for me to not see Jalen Green being successful in the NBA. His athleticism and shotmaking is just so impressive. I’m excited to see him continue to develop
Perplexing coaching decisions by Silas to finish that game btw….

u/OKCDraftPick2028 Lakers Apr 01 '23
Jalen Green is held to a different standard amongst his draft class. He the only one to average 22 in his second season and still getting called "bust"
if the other players in his draft class had Silas as coach, i doubt they would even as good as they are right now
26
u/KryptoNike007 San Diego Rockets Apr 01 '23
It’s just perception and people holding onto narratives. Everyone thought he’d be ROY but he started off slow.
If he had his 30 point game streak to start off his rookie season instead of the end he’d be called the next superstar.
6
u/browndude10 Rockets Apr 01 '23
And he’s doing this with the worst coach in the league and no spacing or plays drawn up
5
u/Grlions91 Pistons Apr 01 '23
Nobody's calling Jalen Green a bust, and taking stock in anyone's opinion that says that is just dumb.
3
u/OKCDraftPick2028 Lakers Apr 01 '23
not what I've seen. they been calling him darko milicic of this draft
9
u/Grlions91 Pistons Apr 01 '23
I'm sorry, but nobody's saying that. And anyone who is is clearly trolling. Idk why your even entertaining that and giving it any credibility by repeating it. That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard.
2
u/browndude10 Rockets Apr 01 '23
Yea there were people last year comparing the draft board to the one in 2003 and saying look history repeats itself

4
u/_s0lace_ Rockets Apr 01 '23
Not only Silas but the shit roster with inexperience that Jalen has to play with. It’s going to be hard to look good when you have no shooting to open up lanes and no playmakers to create easy looks. Also no lob threat aside from 6”7 KJ.

u/RodneyPonk Raptors Apr 01 '23
I mean, from what I hear his defense, passing and efficiency are poor. I think people had hoped to see more development, but it's understandable he hasn't taken a leap with that awful situation
17
u/HoopsMcCann750 Pacers Apr 01 '23
The million dollar question is does he take bad shots because that’s what he likes to do or does he take bad shots because he’s playing for a shitty coach and no veterans to keep him in check. We’ll know next year.
8
u/2ToTooTwoFish [HOU] Steve Francis Apr 01 '23
Or he takes bad shots because we can't generate good shots for him. Having a vet to keep him in check won't do any good, we need a point guard or a better offensive system.
8
u/chode0311 Rockets Apr 01 '23
He has to lead the league in "shot attempts from teammates passing you the ball with seconds left on the shot clock". Our offense is bad. So it happens a lot. And a lot of Green's bad shots coke from that. Green kinda is a safety blanket in the sense his teammates know he can at least get a shot off because it's hard to block his jumper.
6
u/chanman404 Rockets Apr 01 '23
He’s matured heavily throughout the season and is one of the few players on the team who isn’t just out there trying to get his own every time the ball touches his hands.
Jalen doesn’t really get easy looks ever and seems to be taking a lot less bad shots - he really only takes them when he’s feeling himself. Whether he can be a top option on a contender or not in the future, I have no idea, but I think he’s destined to be a top scorer in the league once he can get a few easy looks a game and not be the sole focus of the defense.
I have absolute no hate for KPJ, but watching him run point guard is infuriating. He’ll have possessions where he literally doesn’t look at anything but the hoop and just drives into 4 defenders instead of hitting a teammate. Give Jalen 2 easy looks a game from a good point guard and he’s putting up over 25 in his sophomore year IMO. The kids gonna get buckets.

u/_s0lace_ Rockets Apr 01 '23
His shot selection isn’t even bad tho. Yeah he takes an ill advised shot every now and again (he’s a young 2 guard on a rebuilding team ffs) but all his looks are off of PnR pin downs, the rare C&S and drives to lane. He isn’t just jacking up shit every possession or with no action ran to get a look

If Duren started the Pistons probably win tbh. Cade/Ivey/Duren is gonna be a nasty trio
19
u/Unique-Warning7798 Warriors Apr 01 '23
Idk why Wiseman is often playing more minutes than him and starting over him right now. Makes no sense. Ivey is at his best with Duren as the screener, something Wiseman can't do. And James Wiseman is at his best when he's playing as a scorer off the bench, something he can't really do in the starting lineup.

Don’t watch a lot of Pistons ball but it seems like Duren’s presence kinda just made Bagley mostly redundant

Ivey has some good vision but that shot needs some work. Dude was chucking in the 4th too.
6
u/Slight_Dragonfruit69 Pistons Apr 01 '23
Make no mistake, that is a rare occurrence. I think KPJ got in his head a little near the end of the first half. Ivey is usually just inefficient rather than a chucker. Or he's really efficient and seems like a vet. This is honestly a strange game from him scoring wise, and refs didn't help with him having 0 fts.

Don’t bottom 3 seeds have exact same lottery odds
23
7
u/Marrouge Pistons Apr 01 '23
Bottom 3 teams have the same odds at #1 but the worst team can only fall to 5th in the worst case scenario while the third worst team can fall to seventh

u/Dazegobye Apr 01 '23
Doesn't matter when we are in a sweepstakes year like this. Everybody 2-7 loses equally.
3
u/Marrouge Pistons Apr 01 '23
Let's just say I'd rather have Scoot, Brandon Miller, and either of the Thompson Twins instead of having to settle for Jarace Walker or Gradey Dick
1
u/Dazegobye Apr 01 '23
For sure but nothing feels like a win unless it's vic this year. Theres going to be disappointment for every fanbase that tanked this year that doesn't get the 1 pick on lottery night
1
u/Marrouge Pistons Apr 01 '23
I mean it's a 14% chance so being too optimistic is just gonna lead to disappointment more times than not, having an all or nothing mindset when it comes to getting the #1 overall pick is unhealthy
Even though the Pistons have an 86% chance of not getting Wemby, I still feel confident in their future since they'll have a healthy Cade next season in addition to what is hopefully a top 5 pick alongside Ivey and Duren
I mean yeah it'll be disappointing if they lost 60 games just to get the 5th overall pick but at the end of the day I think the Pistons already have their #1 alpha in Cade so losing out on Wemby wouldn't sting as much for me as it would if I was a Spurs or Rockets fan

Duren has been better than Wiseman every game. Duren is much better at basketball than Wiseman.

Jalen Green looks like the embodiment of the sentence "the average player today would be a star in the 80s and 90s" for some reason i can't pinpoint

Imagine a game where both teams are intent on losing. They will be taking shots at their opponents baskets while defending their own.

This basically guarantees using having the worst record in the league. I'm real excited to drop down to 5 and draft Gradey Dick.
