[Brandon Rahbar] ESPN draft expert @DraftExpress on OKC in his latest mock draft: “Most NBA executives expect the Thunder to be active in trade discussions looking to potentially package this pick and future first-rounders in an attempt to move up on draft night…”
Any ideas who the Thunder are targeting?

OC Miss the Big Kiwi
From my first Thunder game back in Dec 29, 2019. Snuck out the 98 - 97 win and got to talk shit to my mate (Raps fan) for the rest of the night lol
Loved watching SGA cook ‘em for 32 points too

What Would it Take to Trade Up Without Trading the 12th Overall Pick?
Like I'm thinking back to that trade for Dieng last year and thinking: we need to consolidate picks, but maybe we want to keep the 12th.
If Walker slips to 8 or 9 and we trade future assets for that pick and then take Bufkin at 12 then what would it take to get that 8 or 9 pick?
And if we did give up draft assets in that type of a move, would you like it?

We are so freaking spoiled with Presti
Obviously no GM is perfect, but I'll pick his success rate over the uncertainty of having to start over and hit a bullseye again. Bob Myers stepped down. The guy helped them get 4 championships and now they walk into the unknown. Granted having won probably helped his decision to step down. Still Presti sticking around our small market team is an unquantifiable advantage especially compared to other small market teams.

Discussion Some thunder fans are funny...
We love this ideal player in our head who's 6'9", can dribble, pass and shoot, fast, with good handles and solid defense... But sometimes we miss good, concrete players in the draft. It seems a little contradictory to me that we hate the Terrance Ferguson pick, yet we seem to hate small and efficient players like Derrick White and Davion Mitchell and we don't even consider drafting one of them. Sometimes you just gotta draft a solid, efficient player and not a project.

Skepticism around OTE prospects?
First of all, I trust whoever Presti picks. End of story.
But I can’t help but feel skeptic about the Thompson twins. Overtime elite is such an unserious league, made up of mostly teens.
The twins probably won’t even fall down to us but someone tell me if I’m being an idiot or not. Thanks, thunder up.

Discussion Who’s your pick for #12? I saw rumors that Thunder like Bilal Coulibaly and my favorite mock draft site has Coulibaly at #16 so it’s within range. He’s described as a “Baby Giannis”. 6’8 and 7’2 wingspan.

Anyone else listen to the recent Bill Simmons episode about new CBA and freak out?
On the recent Bill Simmons podcast at 1:07:56 in, he goes through his concerns with the new CBA and uses our team as an example of teams that are going to be screwed by how our roster is constructed. Talks about how we did it the right way but getting screwed over and won't be able to keep our young core together (again). What are our thoughts on this?

Discussion What happened to the Celtics?
I used to like watching them, their ball movement was amazing and they were young (as we are now), but they've abandoned the fundamentals basketball in favor of more isolations and have relied a lot on Tatum and Brown individually. Despite their success in postseason (Finals last year and ECFinals at least this year), I don't know if the change has made them more successful than just staying fundamentally sound and doing everything. That said, I'm a little concerned of what OKC will do when our stars start to grow like Tatum and Brown did. I don't want to go back to watch 10 straight iso possesions lol. So what I'm asking is this: why did the Celtics do that and do you think OKC will have that change in the future into a more pragmatic type of basketball?

Why the Future of NBA Contracts Might Ruin the League | The Bill Simmons Podcast
Bill & Ryen bring up OKC multiple times over the span of the 40 minute video discussing how we may be doomed with the new CBA agreement. Probably a good idea to keep the books as open as possible these next few years and build with the young guys.

Discussion Re: Bill Simmons and the new CBA
He’s projecting his own insecurities about his own team onto Oklahoma City. Realistically, who besides Shai is going to be All-NBA? Chet will have to compete with Jokic, Embiid, and Wembanyama (and the 65 game minimum) every year. I doubt Jalen gets an All-NBA nod before his rookie scale extension. I don’t think Giddey is going to be a max player, either. We’ll be fine, we won’t make the same mistake as we did in 2012. We have ownership that has proved they’ll go into the luxury tax to put a competitor out there. Our roster will be fine from top to bottom despite the restrictions due to our excellent developmental staff and treasure cove of draft capital as well. Relax, we’re set up better for this CBA than any other team.
